    A Cup of Water

I was contemplating writing a brief review of 'The Shack' by Young; however, as I've sat and stared at the computer screen I've realized that I'd be in way over my head. Of course then I remembered that big time theologians don't read my blog, but that in itself doesn't muster any courage in my heart. Is Father God Jesus's mother? It's a fictional novel, sorry. People who are talking about this book are talking about God, or maybe just a dim reflection of God, either way, what if one person becomes interested enough to dust off the old family bible and find salvation? CHA CHING! Is that the sound of William Young hitting paydirt heavenly kingdom style?

"I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward."  Mark 9:41

I've been living in Kamloops with my little sister for the last 3 weeks. She's a BC Ambulance paramedic (on strike) who is obsessive with the cleanliness of our shared living accommodations. In her own words "I run a tight ship!". I was in serious trouble a few mornings ago when she found me asleep on the living room couch. Allegedly I was sticking up the living room.

In the evenings I work at a Dairy Queen down the street, where we microwave burgers and refry the french fries. It's simple work and I have lots of time to talk about Jesus with the other chap in the kitchen.

Last September I deceided to stop using Facebook for 2 years, cold turkey, it is such a time waster. Hopefully in another year and a half I'll be so far behind the Facebook learning curve that it will be useless for me to try to get back into it.... So will I recommit to Xanga? Maybe. A blog is a lot like a journal, and in my opinion, a journal is much more than "Jonathan is...."

  • It's been 5 and a half years since I started flight training at Prairie. I never imagined it would take so long to prepare for a career as a missionary aviator. Learning to fly was the easy part, the spiritual journey is the hard part.
